This fun hands-on workshop led by beloved clay artist Julie “Scratch” Taylor is designed for all ages and abilities, making it a perfect introduction to ceramics or a fun, creative break for experienced ceramicists.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of creating unique ceramic charms and jewelry pieces. Starting with slab-building techniques, you’ll shape your designs using various tools and cutters. Once your shapes are complete, you’ll personalize them with texture, colorful underglazes, and several surface decoration techniques that Julie will guide you through.

Each student will have the opportunity to create up to 5 pieces, with all materials provided. You’ll also learn how to incorporate kiln-safe wire to make your pieces wearable.

After the class, your charms will be fired and glazed with a glossy clear coat by the instructor. Take them home and add them to your favorite chain, string, or earring hook! They will be ready for pickup between May 22nd-June16th, during open studio hours. We will not send email notifications, so please mark your calendar and stop by to collect your little cuties. Our front desk will be happy to assist you!

No experience is necessary—this workshop is fun for both beginners and experienced makers!

Ages 10+ welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
