Step up your pottery game with our 10-week ceramics class where you’ll explore both wheel throwing and hand building techniques. This hybrid format gives you the chance to try a variety of clay methods, getting a taste of each so you can continue to discover your own style and expand your creative toolbelt of making skills. You’ll have the opportunity to create functional pieces like cups, bowls, and other tableware, as well as experiment with more abstract, nonfunctional sculptures. Along the way, you’ll also learn glazing and surface design techniques to add depth, texture, and color to your work. Each session includes live demonstrations and personalized guidance from our experienced instructor to help you bring your ideas to life.
This class is designed for individuals who are already proficient in throwing small pieces and have a solid foundation in hand-building. It aims to build on your existing skills, helping you advance your abilities. You will focus on creating more complex forms while pushing the limits of your creativity and technical expertise.
What’s Included:
- 10 Instructed Sessions, 2.5 hours each
- Material and Tools: Each student will receive 25 lbs of clay, 20 firing slips, and access to tools and our large selection of custom glazes.
- 24 free Open Studio Hours to practice independently. Open Studio Hours are valid through the end of the 10 week course. Hours are redeemed in 2 hour “blocks”. Additional hours can be purchased at $20 per 2 hour block.
Open Studio Hours:
Tuesdays, 1pm-5pm
Fridays, 4pm-8pm
Saturdays, 1pm-5pm
Sundays, 10am-2pm
