There are three options for membership: hourly membership, monthly membership, and at-home membership (wheel rental).
Hourly Membership
Have experience working in clay and want to pay-as-you-go for studio access? Our Hourly Members can drop in to use our clay facilities during our designated weekly open studio hours (space is available on a first-come, first-served basis).
Hourly Members prepay for hours by purchasing a punch card. There are three pre-paid punch card options offered, so if you are a more frequent user of open studio, you will be able to purchase hours at a discounted rate!
Open Studio blocks (one punch) are two hours each, during designated open studio times. Punch cards are valid for 6 months after the purchase date of the card.
Punch Card Options and Pricing
12-hour card (6 punches), $120. ($10/hour)
24-hour card (12 punches), $190 (approx $8/hour)
48-hour card (24 punches), $290 (approx $6/hour)
Clay can be purchased in-house, and shared tools are available to check out for free.
Firing is available for pieces made at Radius, during open studio hours only. Cost is $0.06/cubic inch and includes the use of our glazes and both the bisque and glaze firings.
Shared storage for 3 small works or one large work in progress is available.
No storage for personal tools/clay.
No instruction is provided with hourly membership, but our studio assistants are always available for basic questions.

How to apply for Hourly Membership:
Applicants must have a basic understanding of the ceramic process from start to finish, including the glazing and the firing process. We recommend members have a minimum of 12 weeks of clay instruction before applying to become an Hourly Member (instruction does not have to be from Radius).
All applications will be reviewed by Radius management. Hourly Membership spots are limited, and we do our best to rotate in new members as space allows. We will reach out to applicants via email to schedule an in-person interview when spots become available.
All Hourly Members must also pay a $25 on-boarding fee before beginning to use the studio.
Please note: Hourly Membership is a new service, and we are working on keeping it as accessible as possible while still keeping our studio safe during the Covid19 pandemic. This membership option is subject to change as we see necessary.
Monthly Membership
Are you a ceramics artist looking for a regular place to work? Consider becoming a Monthly Member at Radius Studio! Our three-tiered membership model offers access options for artists ranging from hobbiests to more prolific makers.
Membership options are as follows, and based on availability:
- 1 Shelf member (1/5 Metal Shelving Unit) $150/Month
- 2.5 Shelf member (1/2 Metal Shelving Unit) $200/Month
- 5 Shelf member (Full Metal Shelving Unit) $300/Month
What is included:
- 24/7 access to our 3,200 square foot studio and facilities.
- A dedicated personal storage space for materials and works in progress.
- Special Access to our Members’ Only Mezzanine. Monthly Members can work here even when classes are in session in the other workrooms. This space includes a sink, wheels, work tables, and a slab roller.
- Use of our 20+ in-house-made glazes (included in the cost of firing).
- Have your work fired in our cone 6 electric or cone 10 gas kilns (firing fees apply).
- The opportunity to learn to fire kilns and fire your own work (become kiln certified with us to have full control of firing your pieces).

- Access to our kitchenette, including a mini fridge, hot water dispenser, tea station, ice machine, microwave, and shared snacks.

Monthly memberships require an initial 6-month commitment. After the initial 6 months of membership, a 30-day cancellation notice is required.
How to apply for a Monthly Membership:
Applicants must have an understanding of the ceramic process from start to finish, including the glazing and the firing process. We require members to have a minimum of 12 weeks of clay instruction before applying to become a Monthly Member (instruction does not have to be from Radius).
All applications will be reviewed by Radius management. Monthly Membership spots are limited. We will reach out to applicants via email to schedule an in-person orientation when spots become available. The current wait time is approximately 3 months.
At-Home Membership (Wheel Rental)
At-home membership is a great option for artists who have the space at home to create and enjoy working in a private environment, but need access to the equipment, glazes, and firing to finish the job. A Radius At Home Membership combines several of the amenities of a full membership with the comfort of working from home.
How it works:
- The At-Home membership includes the use of a pottery wheel, which we provide for use at your residence.
- The monthly membership fee is $150 per month, with a $730 fully refundable deposit to ensure the safe return of our pottery wheel and studio key fob. (If members wish to opt out of the wheel rental, the monthly fee is still the same, but the deposit is only $180).
- At-Home membership requires a 3-month commitment. After the first three months, the contract automatically goes month-to-month.
- At-Home Members do not have personal storage space at the studio.
Class times are generally Monday through Saturday AM, 10:30-1 pm, and Monday through Wednesday evenings, 6:30-9 pm. The full calendar can be found on the bulletin board at the studio. Open studio hours are Thursdays 5-9 pm, Fridays 4-8 pm, Saturdays 1-5 pm, and Sundays 10 am-2 pm. We are out of session for classes/open studio during the month of April, the month of August, and mid-December to early January, during which times you have full 24/7 access to the studio.
Firing info:
At Home Members have the same firing options as regular Monthly Members. Members can pay to fire per piece at .06¢ per cubic inch; this cost includes both the bisque and glaze firing for a single piece. They also have the opportunity to take a kiln firing workshop with us ($50) to learn about firing and to become Radius certified to fire a full kiln on their own at a discounted rate.

- At Home members are offered 10% off Radius workshops and classes.
- Radius hosts at least two markets at the studio per year, to which At-Home Members will be invited to participate.
