Who doesn’t like fresh flowers in a handmade vase? This workshop is on Mother’s Day but don’t let that stop you if you wanna attend by yourself, sign yourself and your partner up, come with a bestie, OR embrace the holiday and register both you and your mama!
In this project-based workshop, we will guide you through the process of making a totally unique slab-built vase using freeform and template techniques. We will go over the basics of how to properly prepare the clay, roll it into slabs, and then cut all of the parts necessary to build your unique pieces. We will then cover the proper technique for assembling the parts to create a functional and beautiful vase.
After construction, time permitted students will have the choice to stay and paint their piece or have us glaze it for them with our beautiful house-made white gloss glaze.
This workshop is open to all skill levels but some hand-building experience is helpful.
Please note:
- Pickup Schedule: Your completed planter will be ready for collection between June 13th and July 14th during open studio hours. We do not send out notifications, so please mark these dates on your calendar.
- Open Studio Hours for Pickup: Thursdays 5-9 PM, Fridays 4-8 PM, Saturdays 1-5 PM, and Sundays 12-2 PM.
- Unclaimed Work Policy: Remember to collect your work within the specified time frame, as unclaimed pieces will be discarded or donated to a scholarship fundraiser.
- Photography Consent: By engaging in Radius Art Studio’s community, such as classes and events, you consent to the use of photographs featuring you and your artwork for promotional purposes on various social media platforms.
