Description

Workshop fee includes 12 instructed sessions, 20 firing slips, 25 lbs of clay, and 24 free open studio hours.

Join us for an immersive 12-week ceramics class where you’ll explore both wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this course will enhance your skills and ignite your creativity.

While mastery of the wheel takes time, our focus will be on building a strong foundation and developing your skills systematically. Through hands-on practice, you will learn essential techniques such as centering, pulling, and shaping clay on the wheel. Our goal is to help you improve your proficiency and gain a deeper understanding of the wheel-throwing process.

Discover the versatility of hand building, using techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building. We will encourage a more project-oriented approach, allowing you to apply your newfound skills to experiment and create unique ceramic pieces.

Receive personalized guidance from our experienced instructor, who will provide demonstrations and individual feedback to refine your techniques. Students will gain knowledge of glazing techniques, firing, and finishing processes.

Our goal is to provide you with the skills and confidence to continue your ceramics journey beyond the class. By the end of the course, we hope you walk away with a well rounded base knowledge of clay, and several wheel-thrown and hand-built items you made during the class and open studio sessions.

No previous clay experience necessary.

This session includes 24 free “open studio” hours to come in and practice (without instruction) outside of class times. These open hours will be limited to Thursday 5pm- 9pm, Friday 4pm-8pm, Saturday 1pm-5pm, and Sunday 10am-2pm.
