In December, Radius Art Studio is taking over a gallery space on East Burnside Street and we need your help. Our new space will include a retail shop, artist studios and an event space. We are so excited to host workshops, community meet ups, gallery shows and more! We hope to open our doors February 1st, but we have a lot of work to do first. Your contributions go directly towards our startup costs and building setup. Every dollar counts, so please donate what you can and help us spread the word.
As a thank you, we would like to offer those who donate $100 or more a 25% off coupon to one Radius Annex Workshop registration. Everyone that donates $200 or more will receive this coupon plus a VIP pass to our opening party. VIP pass includes a complimentary drink and a Radius swag Bag.
Here is a little more on who we are and what we do:
Radius Studio is a community art space offering workshops, studio space, and equipment for anyone serious (or just curious) about art. Working to accommodate both the beginning and experienced artist, we offer professional facilities and instruction in a supportive and creative environment.
Founded in a small apartment in 2002, Radius has grown and changed along with our beloved city. Currently, we occupy a 6,000 square foot building in industrial SE Portland, OR. This space serves as production studio for our 30+ members and is the home of many more practicing artists whose media include painting, ceramics, fashion design, sculpture, leatherwork, fibers, illustration, printmaking and more.
Over the last 5 years, development in our neighborhood has threatened our continued existence. As creative spaces convert to tech offices and rent spikes as high as the skyscrapers being built on top of us, more and more Portland artists are looking for affordable places to call home. Radius is determined to continue the fight to hold space for local creatives to work, thrive, and continue to keep portland crafty!
Help us open Radius Annex, a place where local artists can work, teach, showcase and sell their creations. A place where community members can come to learn, grow, and make. A place that keeps the spirit of old Portland alive while welcoming new portland to come and get weird with us.
Thanks for your support of local art, artists, and education!
