Join us for 5 weeks of fun-filled Thursday evenings at Radius! Designed to ignite the artistic spark in young minds and provide a hands-on experience in the world of clay, this workshop is focused on learning and creativity by exploring clay as a form of expression.
In this session, we welcome kids ages 9-13. We will dive into ceramics by learning the basics of wheel throwing, hand building, and underglaze painting. Students will learn various pottery wheel throwing techniques, including centering, pulling, and shaping, to create unique clay pieces. Students will also learn the basics of hand-building ceramic projects, such as pinch, coil, and slab clay construction. Students will also experiment with underglazes, adding vibrant colors and designs to their creations.
All the creations made by our young artists will be fired and glazed by Radius staff, and available for pickup during open studio hours four weeks after each session is completed. You will have one month after the original pickup date to pick up during our open studio hours.
We recommend packing a daily snack to keep the creativity flowing!
