Join Joe Robinson of East Creek Art at Radius Art Studio for an afternoon/evening of outdoor Raku firing. Joe will be bringing the East Creek Raku Trailer to our studio for all the firing fun!
Everything you need including glaze, firing, and instruction is provided. You are encouraged to bring your own bisque fired pieces to glaze and raku fire, but for those of you that come empty-handed or want to experiment beyond what you bring, Joe will have pre-made bisque pots (starting at $20) for you to purchase and glaze/fire (a collaboration between you and Joe)!
Whether you are an experienced raku potter, or you have never made a pot in your life, this is a great way to see ceramics in action. Potters, bring your non-potter friends to paint and fire pre-made bisque pots for professional looking results in about an hour.
We will be doing several firings throughout the evening, and participants are welcome to come and go as desired. Each firing takes about an hour, so be prepared to hang out and socialize if you are done glazing and your pieces are in a kiln. This event is about both ceramics and building community! Please feel free to email if you have questions.
Choose from three participation options:
$120 registration includes glaze and firing of 6 BYO pieces (6″ or less)
$75 includes glaze and firing of 2 BYO pieces (6″ or less)
$50 registration includes one premade (by Joe) pot that you can glaze and raku fire
Participants are required to wear closed-toed shoes, non-flammable tops, and be ready for smoke, flame, and red hot pots!
Firing will be in our outdoor studio space, but some glazing and prep might be done indoors. Masks required.
