Description
In this one time project-based workshop, participants will explore the possibilities of creating a one-of-a-kind platter or serving dish. We will go over the basics of how to properly prepare the clay, and roll it into slabs to construct the body of the piece. Once you have formed the piece you will learn how to attach a foot, handles, and other decorative elements of your choosing.
After construction, students can stay and paint the piece to further customize it or have us glaze it for them with our beautiful house-made white gloss glaze. After the workshop, it will go through a two-part firing process which takes a few weeks and will be ready to pick up during shop hours approximately 1 month later.
This workshop is open to all skill levels but some hand-building experience is helpful.
