Looking for something fun and creative to do in the comfort and safety of your own home? Join us via Zoom for a 8 part clay class! Each week we will show new techniques and project ideas, then help you troubleshoot as you work on your own creations. You will learn the basics of pinch pots, coil building, slab building, surface design techniques, lidded jars and more. No experience necessary, this is a great way to get started working with ceramics or expand on your current skills.
The instruction only option for this workshop include 16 hours of instruction + printable templates.
The instruction + tool kit option comes with 25lbs of clay, wooden slats for regulating slab thickness, a ware board, templates, a needle tool, sponge, metal rib, fishing line for cutting clay, 6 firing slips, and an underglaze kit.
Students will need to have access to a rolling pin. A heavy, wooden one will work best (the bigger the better)! They can be washed and safe to use for cooking after use.
In addition to the provided tool kit, the following things are helpful to have: a ruler, a banding wheel, any other clay tools (ribs, needle tool, etc).
We will cover this in class but for reference: if you are purchasing clear glaze, (we recommend this one from AMACO). Additional clay and firing will also be available for purchase through our studio.
Kits can be picked up between Jan 5th – Jan 12th at 322 SE Morrison St. during our Drop off/ Pick Up hours:
