Learn the foundations of what actually makes a glaze work in this one-day, hands-on glaze mixing workshop. We’ll discuss how the fundamental glaze mixing materials work and walk through mixing them into glaze together. No mystery, no gatekeeping!
You’ll get familiar with the essential tools and equipment needed to get started, and learn how to confidently read, understand, and follow a glaze batch recipe without feeling overwhelmed.
During the workshop, we’ll dig into how glaze recipes are written, how to interpret them, and what all those numbers mean. You’ll get hands-on experience mixing a glaze during class, so you leave with a deeper understanding (and way more confidence) to start exploring on your own.
Important Note: A particulate respirator is required to bring to this class for essential glaze mixing safety.
No prior glaze mixing experience necessary.
This workshop is perfect for folks with an existing ceramics practice who want more control over their surfaces, as well as curious beginners ready to dip a toe into the wild (and surprisingly approachable) world of glaze chemistry.
