Description
Join Lettie Jane Rennekamp for this afternoon watercolor workshop painting the figure. This workshop aims to embrace the sometimes loose and fluid qualities of watercolor to capture the figure. We will have a live nude model beginning with short gesture poses to warm up our eyes and our hands and slowly moving into longer poses. Students will be encourages to embrace some of the techniques Lettie Jane is known for in Intuitive Drawing: working on more than one piece at once, leaning on a blind contour outline of the figure and coming back to color in the whole.
We will go over color mixing wet and dry, which brushes to use and how you embrace mistakes to make your drawing more interesting.
This workshop is for you if you love figure drawing, are curious about loosening up your figure work or you want to deepen your drawing practice. Some class materials will be provided, but it’s recommended to bring your own watercolor, paper and brushes.
