Description
Workshop fee includes 12 instructed sessions, 20 firing slips, 25lbs of clay, and 24 free open studio hours.
This workshop is focused on making things to fire in our Cone 10 Gas Kiln, Shirley! Designed to fit the needs of both beginning and intermediate ceramics students, you will learn the basics of how to throw on the potter’s wheel, as well as glazing and firing in a reduction kiln. Explore how the atmosphere of our manual gas kiln affects glazes and creates an element of surprise in its range of effects.
Beginning students will explore the creation of basic forms such as cups and bowls as well as firing and glazing techniques, while intermediate/advanced students explore working in multiples to gain efficiency. No previous clay experience necessary.
