Ceramics Studio Manager Position
Summary
Radius Art Studio is looking for a ceramics studio manager to join our clay community.
- The Ceramics Studio Manager provides managerial, administrative, and operational support to ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of Radius Art Studio.
- The Ceramics Studio Manager ensures clean and efficient operations, consistent materials and supplies, studio safety, and maintenance of studio facilities and equipment. This includes helping with kiln firings, clay recycling, and general studio cleaning.
- The Ceramics Studio Manager supervises and directs the work of a team of studio assistants. They work collaboratively with ceramic instructors and community members to ensure all programs run smoothly and that the goals of the organization are met.
- The Ceramics Studio Manager collaborates with the studio owner on event planning and programming.
- 30 hours a week

Since 2002, Radius Art Studio has been a creative community offering ceramics workshops, clay studio memberships, and a handmade retail shop. Our vision is to offer work space and ceramics education for all skill levels in a fun and supportive environment.
Radius Art Studio is conveniently located in the heart of the Buckman neighborhood. Our studio is fully equipped with 18 pottery wheels, 4 electric kilns, and a large gas kiln. Additional equipment includes a slab roller, multiple large work tables, and in-house glazes.
Job Qualifications
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Self motivated
- At least one year of experience in a management role and/or administrative role
- Proficient in or quick to learn Google Drive, Mailchimp, WordPress & Square
- Team player with studio owner and assistants
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- The ability to work with members from diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- The ability to respond to cultural shifts and changing community support needs
- Community-minded and a supporter of the arts
- Proof of vaccination
- Able to lift 50lb boxes of clay
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of the ceramic process
- Experience in event planning
- Background in the arts
- Experience working in a creative and collaborative environment
- Graphic design abilities
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the studio
- Work with the studio owner to plan and organize curriculum and special events
- Make necessary purchases of equipment, tools, and materials to ensure the studio is fully equipped; manage resources and supplies
- Update website with current workshops and events
- Create and send weekly internal and external newsletters
- Collect and organize payments
- Onboard new members
- Maintain our google calendars
- Answer customer emails
- Schedule social media posts
- General studio maintenance (fire kilns, wedge clay, clean and organize)
- Attend a monthly staff meeting
Compensation
Pay starts at $20-$25/hour depending on experience
Full Membership to Radius including studio access and storage
Scheule
30 hours per week
Tuesday-Saturday
